Scripture
Reading: 2 Timothy 4:8
Crown of Righteousness
I remember back in the 80’s when we visited London. One of the things I was determined to see was
the crown jewels. As we approached the
viewing area of one of the Queen’s crowns, my excitement grew. When it was our turn to see it, I was sadly
disappointed. We had to file by a
darkened display window from outside the building. The crown was in a secured box behind glass,
out of reach to anyone.
When Jesus went to the cross, He did it so we could all
have a crown of righteousness. He made
this crown available to all that want it, and it’s not locked behind a glass
case out of reach.
Are you seeking a crown that will bring you closer to
Jesus? Don’t be caught on the outside of
the window looking in; come inside and receive your crown of salvation. It’s free and ready for you. (cw)
“Finally, there is laid up for me the Crown of
Righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, will give to me on that
Day, and not to me only but also to all
who have loved His appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:8 NKJ)
