Radiant Joy

Verse of the month

“… Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only…”  (James 1:22)

May 8th – 14th

Scripture Reading:  Psalms 34:5 NLT

Radiant Joy

I can remember when my sister was expecting her first child.  Actually, before she was showing there was something “glowing” about her.  She was joyful, bright and cheery with anticipation of a new birth flowing through her entire body.

People would comment about her physical appearance and how radiant she looked.  How joyful would it be if every believer carried that kind of radiance with them, shining the bright light of their faith in God?

Being a mother is a joyful thing.  However, everyone is not a mom, but any child of God can be radiant for Christ because of their new birth through salvation.  King David is an example of this and demonstrated his faith in action.

Throughout the scriptures we read of him sharing his experience(s) explaining how the Lord his Savior helped him in a time of great need.  When we seek God for help as he did, we will be overjoyed, radiant and glowing with what He has done for us.  All shame or sadness will be removed. (cw)

“Those who look to Him for help will be radiant with joy;
No shadow of shame will darken their faces.” (Psalm 34:5 NLT)
