| Faith Moments Daily Bible Reading and Online Devotionals |
Our focus this month begins with the National Day of Prayer on May 7th in the United States. The artwork for this event depicts our founding father George Washington kneeling in prayer during a battle at Valley Forge, New Jersey, a place dear to us growing up in the garden state.
As Americans, we are fully award of the historic value the Revolutionary War brought to this nation and the importance prayer played in the freedom we now enjoy. However, contrary to the most sought after painting of our beloved leader with his favorite horse Nelson, there is no written or photographic evidence that our first president actually prayed in that specific location.
We do know that he was a man of prayer who had a heart for the people, much like King David, which led to the scripture base for this year's prayer theme as America celebrates her 250th anniversary as a nation. The prayer event is based on 1 Chronicles 16:24 where we as a people are to "Glorify God among the nations; seeking Him in all generations."
"Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples." 1 Chronicles 16:24 NASB
For more information about this event visit their website.
The broadcast will air live at 8 p.m. ET. Watch it here.
Please join us as millions of believers unite in prayer to glory God among the nations with a message of hope.
Help spread the message about the "God of Hope" who will meet every need spiritually, physically, financially, socially and emotionally. God is our hope, our only hope and to Him we lift our voices humbly in prayer for our nation and the world.
