Operate in God’s Power of Love

Verse of the Month

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…”
Proverbs 23:7

Scripture Reading: John 13:34-35

Operate in God’s Power of Love

Sometimes it seems that no matter what you do or what you say, there are people that you come in contact with who are just itching for an argument.  Regardless of the outcome, it is never a pleasant experience.

Jesus spent his life here on earth constantly being followed and questioned by the “religious elite” of the day.  They constantly tried to trip Him up, arguing their views against His Word.

Eventually Jesus was brought before the High Priest and the Roman rulers.  They accused Him, insulted Him, and even beat Him, but He never retaliated.  He kept His peace and operated in love.

What can we learn from this?  That it is our job to operate in love, and to see to it that we are not the ones carrying around an argumentative spirit.  Let only the Spirit of Christ dwell in you!

“…love one another; as I have loved you…” (John 13:34)
