Thanksgiving Praises

“Let them praise the Lord for His great love
    and for the wonderful things He has done for them.
Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving
    and sing joyfully about His glorious acts.”

Thanksgiving Praises

Throughout our years of service unto the Lord we’ve been able to minister in a lot of churches of various denominations.  One of the most difficult things to watch is the lack of praise to the Lord.  It’s like pulling teeth to get people to freely offer sacrifices of praise, especially if someone is looking at them as if it were strange.

“Accept, I beseech Thee, the free will offerings of my mouth.” Oh, that God would help us offer to Him the sacrifice of praise.” (Psalm 119:108)

It’s sad to say, but the Body of Christ does a poor job of living a life of continual praise to God in their daily lives.  Are shouts of thanksgiving only visible when things go our way?

No wonder that when congregations assemble there is no move of the Holy Spirit when we’re together, because we haven’t been privately praising God during the rest of the week.  If we were truly offering daily thanksgiving praises there would be so much shouting with joy that the entire neighborhood would rush to the church to see what was happening.

“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name." (Hebrews 13:15 NKJV)

God’s Word instructs us that we are to live in a spirit of praise at all times.  When we do, it becomes a sacrifice of praise unto the Lord for the things He has done for us as our verse of the month says. (Psalm 107:21-22)

This week focus on maintaining an atmosphere in your lifestyle where praise can continually flow.  The only way to do that is to practice it daily. (cw) 

“I will bless the Lord at all times.

 His praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

(Psalm 34:1)
