Thanksgiving Prayers

Thanksgiving Prayers

It’s not unusual for people to say a word or two of thanksgiving when it comes to being grateful for the many blessings the Lord has done in their lives.  However, it’s a different story when we speak of the sacrifice of prayer in thankfulness for who God is. 

Scripture teaches how sacrificial prayers before God are sweet smelling like incense that fills the air.  It’s something pleasant and desirable to be around on a regular basis.

When we lift our voices and hands up to the Heavens in prayers of thanksgiving, we are to express our sincere gratitude to God for what Jesus did for us on the cross.  In a sense our prayers should convey to the Lord that He is magnified above everything else in our lives, and without Him we can do nothing.

As you enter your prayer room to fellowship with Jesus, lift up voices and hands of praise offering thanksgiving prayers for the gift of salvation. Thank Him for washing away your sins, making you clean to stand in the presence of Almighty God.

Finally, pray that your prayers may be a sweet aroma before His Holy throne of grace and accepted as a sacrifice of thanksgiving. (cw)
