Great Expectations from God

Verse of the Month

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4 NKJV)

January 8th – 14th

Scripture Reading:  Ephesians 3:20

Great Expectations from God

Every year we are thankful for new beginnings and a fresh start.  We look back on things we wanted to accomplish and somehow always fall short of our expectations.  Although things may not have worked out the way we planned, there is One person who we can always expect great things from and that’s the Lord God.

As we begin another year of hopes, dreams and desires, what can we expect from God?  The same as always – great things. Why is that? God Almighty, the Creator of all things never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

“For I am the Lord, I do not change…” (Malachi 3:6a)

The Lord’s blessings are reliable and His love is unconditional.  He never loses control or worries since nothing ever surprises Him.  No matter what happens take heart in knowing that you can always expect more than you could ever imagine, because He is a great God.

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above
all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
(Ephesians 3:20 NKJV)

What are you expecting from God this year?  Forget the past and move forward with the Lord, expecting greater things. You won't be disappointed. (cw)
