Put Anxiety and Fear to Rest

Verse of the Week:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore, we will not fear.” (Psalm 46:1-2a NKJV)

Scripture Reading: Psalm 46; Matthew 11:28; Isaiah 26:3-4

Put Anxiety and Fear to Rest

Whenever there is something globally going on it often causes an uprising in fear or panic.  People become anxious, uneasy and heavy burdened not knowing how others may react in a crisis.

Their spirit finds no rest or comfort, because their confidence lies within the abilities of man for answers.  However, those who have believed and trusted in Jesus as Savior do not need to get caught up in fear or the unrest of the world.  We rely on something better.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore, we will not fear.” (Psalm 46:1-2a NKJV)

Our hope, confidence and comfort are in Christ, who promises (emotional and physical) rest for the weary and burdened.  Nothing we experience is beyond the hand of God to correct.   Although the world may see chaos, we can experience true peace from the Holy Spirit if we take our cares to the Lord in prayer.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You,
because he trusts in You.  Trust in the LORD forever, for YAH, the LORD, is everlasting (Rock of Ages) strength.” (Isaiah 26:3-4 NKJV)

Christ said that in this world there would be tribulation. He made provision for us and explained what we are to do.  Jesus wants us to bring our concerns, anxiety and fear to Him, because He has the solutions.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. (I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.)
(Matthew 11:28 AMPC)

In other words, it’s as if Jesus said, “Come to me.  I will give you rest that comforts and peace at heart so you will relax as I work this for good.”

Instead of listening to the negative news, open your bible and put your faith in God’s word for deliverance.  He is waiting on you right now.  Jesus is calling … come to me for the rest that is waiting for you.

God is aware of the situation and has provided help through Jesus, so put all anxiety and fear to rest.  Trust in the Lord to refresh your spirit, body and soul during times of trouble. (cw)
