Turn the World Upside Down

Verse of the Week

“Then the master said to the servant, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
(Luke 14:23 NKJV)

Scripture Reading: Acts 17 & 18; Luke 14:16-24

Turn the World Upside Down

The beginning age of the church was known as those who “turned the world upside” down according to Acts 17:6b. Believers in Jesus as the true Messiah shared the gospel fervently without shame, witnessing to everyone and inviting them to fellowship together.

“… These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.”

If we compare the first century church to now, it looks as if something major is missing, especially since we cannot meet in a physical building setting as usual during this global pandemic.  With this being so, what can we do to share the message of Jesus?

As the current Body of Christ (the church) we are to be just as excited as Luke described in Acts chapter 18 when it comes to winning souls to the Lord.  That means we should still be looking for ways to share the gospel despite not being able to gather regularly.

In order to bring the fullness of Christ to a hurting world during this situation, in prayer ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit daily with ways to tell people about Him.  Such as through social media, a phone call, text, mailed card or standing in line at a store.

Compel others to turn to Christ for salvation just like the early church did and become part of those who turned the world upside down for Jesus. That way, when we are able to assemble again invite them to church so God’s house will be filled with new believers. (cw)
