When Hope Seems Lost

Verse of the Week

"I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His Word I hope.”
                                                 (Psalm 130:5 NKJV)

                When Hope Seems Lost

Scrolling through social media notices I came across a woman’s plea.  Her message was clear and right to the point over the things she was facing in her life.   It ended with this request.

“Need prayer. Doing everything I can I’ve given up hope.”

Besides the pressure of outstanding bills, she was discouraged about not be able to give her children anything for Christmas.  She had lost hope and knew intercession was needed in order for her faith in God to be restored.

After a few responses in agreeing to pray, people began telling her that packages and provision were on the way.  The woman didn’t ask for money, but prayer so that her faith would be restored in God supplying all her needs.

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NLT)

This woman needed encouragement and reminding of what the scriptures declare.  In reaching out she acknowledged her weakness, which allowed God to show Himself strong in her situation.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed,
for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold
you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)

Perhaps you are facing similar circumstances and hope of things changing seems distant or lost.  Even though it may be hard to envision, don’t give up on your hope in Christ.  He is with you and will uphold you in His mighty hand. (cw)
