What Does Jesus Want from Me?

of the glory of God.”

Scripture Reading:
2 Peter 3:9; John 14:6

What Does Jesus Want from Me?

Have you ever wondered or asked, “What exactly does Jesus want from me (or us)?”  Life is happening all around you, but something seems to be missing leaving you unfulfilled.  The reason is, because God is trying to get your attention to what He has in store for your life, but there is something you have to do first.

The Bible says that before we can expect to hear from God or receive His promises we must repent of our sins and turn away from them.  He is eager to answer our prayers and the desires of our heart.

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness,
but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that
all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9 NKJV)

He wants our obedience in accepting Him as Lord and Savior, so that we receive the gift of redemption from sin that He provided on the cross. He longs for to have fellowship with us now and for all eternity in Heaven.  Sin prevents a relationship between God and mankind; believing in Jesus as His Son and Redeemer is how all relationships with God happens.

Can we get right with God some other way?  No, because the Holy scriptures make it clear that there is only one way to God, and that’s through Jesus.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6 NJKV)

If you are willing God is ready to become a part of your life by praying the sinner’s prayer.  Do it now and He will reveal to you through the Holy Spirit what good things He has planned for your life.

If you have walked away from the Lord, don’t delay in asking Him to forgive you for not obeying what He says in His Word.  Repent now to get right with Him and soon you will be hearing exactly what He wants from you. (cw)
