Why Did Jesus Have to Become a Man?

Why Did Jesus Have to Become a Man?

The Bible tells us that according to God all mankind has sinned against Him in some way.  Since it was a man (meaning human in flesh form) that sinned, a man would have to pay the penalty for sin.  It couldn’t be any man, but someone who had never sinned.

“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation(atonement/forgiveness) for the sins of the people.”

(Hebrews 2:17)

Why did Jesus have to die? The penalty for sin is death, and the only way to forgiveness and eternal life is through the shed blood of Christ our Lord.

“And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.” (Hebrews 9:22)

Would that be the end of our hope in Jesus? Absolutely not.  Jesus rose from the grave and ascended to Heaven to prepare a place for those who trust in Him as their Lord and Savior. 

There is no end to our hope and joy in Christ.  First Peter 3:22 tells us Jesus now reigns with God, guides us by His Spirit and is preparing a place for us with Him for all eternity. (jw/cw)
