Liquid Tears
It's
been quite a difficult year with the spread of the c-virus. Everywhere
you read someone has shed tears over the loss of a loved one. So many times, I find myself crying having
heard the sad news of someone I don’t even know.
Tears
are a universal language people understand and often leave a trail to
Christ. I can relate to it being said that prayers are liquid tears that
move the heart of God.
In
the book of Psalm over and over we read of King David going before the Lord in
prayer, pouring out his heavy heart to his Creator. Have we not done the same?
"Put my
tears into Your bottle; are they not in Your book?
The
New Living translation reads:
“You keep
track of all my sorrows.
You
have collected all my tears in Your bottle.
You
have recorded each one in Your book.” (Psalm 56:8 NLT)
Through
his tears David stood on the Word of God in hope for a better tomorrow. He relied on the promises of the Lord to spiritually
see beyond the current circumstances.
“Weeping may
endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."
(Psalm 30:5
NKJV)
As
you witness friends, family and those around you, have compassion on them for
what they may be experiencing. Weep with
those who are weeping assuring them that God sees their pain and will somehow
turn things around. Remind them how one day Jesus will wipe away
all tears and there will be no more sorrow, pain or death.
Finally,
weep for those who have yet to find comfort through Christ Jesus. Pray that their tears are few, and that through
the Lord they will find new mercy and joy. (cw)
“I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, Look, God’s home is now
among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people.
God himself will be with them.
He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death
or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”
(Revelation 21:3-4 NLT)
