It's National Family Week in America! (September 25th - October 1st, 2023)
Although this holiday originated in Canada in 1968, America first began celebrating the family unit in 1987 while Ronald Reagan was president (November 19th, 1987). The intent purpose was to build community awareness while strengthen families at the same time.
Look for actitivities that can incorporated family and community. You will be amazed how much you all have in common!
Use your imagination and creativity for ideas like these:
- Have a street block party with Christian music.
- Invite your street to a family cookout in your driveway.
- Hold an outdoor Christian movie night with loads of fun snacks.
- Have a themed fun night and invite surrounding streets.
- Plan a talent night or sports carnival.
- Catch up with friends during family games night.
Be sure to inquire about city permits or restrictions before holding any event.
This is a great time to demonstrate our love for God and others. Let's put our words into action by reaching out to the lost through our kind deeds.
