Working with special needs
children I’ve often gone to work feeling tired and worn out even before I’ve
started my actual teaching day. It seems
my body needed more rest than it got and so it would affect my emotions. That’s normal for most.
However, knowing the background
of each child would help me to get my attitude in check or “right” before they
entered the classroom. Children are more
in tune with feelings and life than we give them credit. They pick up on your feelings and take things
to heart. Knowing this, they would often
try to encourage the staff with a kind word, and became the “adult” in caring.
A kind word goes a long
way. Try practicing Proverbs 12:25 each
day and see how a good word makes you feel.
Readings are from the King James Version and are designed for morning and nightly readings. Daily readings are set up to read through the entire Bible in one year with this schedule.
