Not Placed in Shame

Verse of the month

“Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, the remnant will be saved.” (Romans 9:27)

September 15-21

Scripture Reading: Romans 9:33, 10:10-11

Not Placed in Shame

I was a child who grew up in a large family with seven children.  Whenever something happened, blame had a ways to travel before it finally landed on one of us kids.  Eventually the shame of disobeying would come out and justice would prevail.

God’s Word tells us that Jesus came to take away all blame and shame for whom ever would believe in Him.  The Word also states that those who do not believe in Jesus will one day be “put to open shame” for their sins and unbelief.

Only those who believe the Word of God and obey it will escape the punishment and shame of disobeying God.

Is your heart right with God?  Repent today and accept Christ, so that you will not be put to shame at His return. (cw)

As it is written: Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense, And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”  (Romans 9:23 NKJV)
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
 (Romans 10:10-11 NKJV)

Also: Proverbs 8:33, 9:9; Zephaniah 3:2
