Earthly
Fathers: A gift from our Heavenly Father!
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 17:6
" ... the glory of the children are
their fathers." (Proverbs 17:6) Dads,
like Moms, are truly wonderful gifts from God. They are fun and very versatile.
Look at how many things you talked your dad into doing with you and for you
over the years. You know many times he didn't feel like it, especially after a
long day at work, but he did it anyway.
Fathers are strong and loving. They provided for us when we were
young and couldn't fend for ourselves, and continue to watch out for you even
as you get older and raise your own family.
Girls thank Dad for letting you go on that first date, even
though he felt like running that boy clean out of town, because no one is good
enough for his little girl. Guys, thank Dad for showing you the ropes and for
being a Godly example in a sinful world.
"Honor your father and your mother,
that your days may be long upon the land which
the LORD your God is giving you." (Exodus 20:12 NKJV)
We are to show honor to our earthly Dads, and we can start today
by letting them know just how we feel. Let us continue to teach our children
the importance of honoring our parents (and grandparents).
Be a blessing to your Dad today and every day. He is a blessing
