Reading: Luke 23 and 24:1-10
We serve a risen Savior!
“He is not here, but is risen.” (Luke 24:6)
Luke
23, gives the account of the trial of Jesus in Pilate’s court, His brutal
crucifixion, and burial in the tomb. The
Pharisees were getting their wish. With
the Truth out of the way, they could get back to the business of oppressing the
people with their twisted theology and burdensome rules.
The
world and satan would have you believe that the life of Jesus stopped
there. God’s Word, however, gives us
proof that this wasn’t the end. Read on into Luke 24:1-10. Angels met the visitors at the tomb of Jesus
and asked,
“Why seek ye the living among the dead?
He is not here, but is risen.” (Luke 24:67)
Our
Savior took our sins on His own body to pay the price that we weren’t able to
pay ourselves. Then Jesus Christ rose on
the third day “having spoiled principalities
and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it”
(Colossians 2:15). He rose in
victory that through Him we might have victory!
Resurrection
Sunday is a day to celebrate our glorious, risen Savior. As you read in the scriptures what Jesus did
for us on the cross, praise the Lord for the truth of His Word. Take the truth with you and tell your family
and friends of the great things that Christ has done for you.
Share
the good news of Jesus Christ with a lost world. Let the truth that we serve a risen Savior
abound in your heart each day.
