“But he
said to them,
“Do not be alarmed. You seek
Jesus of Nazareth, who was
crucified. He
is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.” (Mark 16:6
NKJV)

Meekness, not
weakness,
is of great value to God.
Scripture
Reading: Galatians 5:16-26
“…love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness,
goodness, faith,
meekness, temperance: against such there is no
law.”
(Galatians 5:22-23)
On
April 14th my nephew Michael was born. From the very beginning, Mikey endeared
himself to everyone. While many children
of the same age were aggressive and possessive, Mikey was a meek and quiet
spirit. Today, a few decades later he is
over six-feet tall and around pounds.
But you know what? He is still
“Mikey”, because he still possesses that meek and quiet spirit. The true attributes of being a man.
In
1 Peter 3:4, it says, “But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is
not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the
sight of God of great price.”
God
puts great value on a meek and quiet spirit.
The world sees meekness and quietness as weaknesses, but God sees it
differently. You don’t have to go
running around like a bull in the china shop of life to prove that you are a
man or that you are in charge. God says,
“put on the garment or the ornament of meekness and quietness of spirit, and
you are of great value to Me”.
Our
scripture reading for today speaks of the fruit of the Spirit. To be true men and women of God we need to
operate in these fruit (the abundant harvest of good things from God). When we mingle our faith with the fruit of
the Spirit in our lives, we too can have the testimony that was said of Enoch
in Hebrews 11:5, “…that he pleased God.”
Being
right now, purpose in your heart to please God and bear much fruit for His
Kingdom.
