Verse
of the Week
“Being made
free from sin, you are made the servants of Righteousness.” (Romans 6:18 RGT)
July 1st – 7th
Scripture
Reading: Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:18; John 8:32
Freedom in Crisis
In the beginning of this
nation things were quite different, much like in the foundation of earth upon
its creation. God’s plans were clear,
but sin of man changed everything.
When America was established,
there wasn’t much of a gap between religious beliefs and morality. Sadly, that can no longer be said. People
need to examine what they truly believe in as righteousness or truth, and be
set free from the sin that is keeping them in bondage.
“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
(John 8:32 NKJV)
It’s time to come back to
the cross and repent. Once more America
needs to put Christ first and carry out the Great Commission in making
disciples for Jesus.
“Go and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the
Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new
disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am
with you always, even to the end of the age.”
(Matthew 28:19-20 NLT)
America is in crisis, and
unless we get back on the path of righteousness, we will no longer live freely
to worship God and share the gospel message of salvation. Will you stand for
religious freedom like our forefathers and become a servant of Righteousness for
Christ? (cw)
“Having been
set free from sin, you have become the servants of Righteousness and Righteous
living (of conformity to the Divine will of God in thought, purpose and action.)
(Romans 6:18 AMPC emphasis mine)
