Oh, how I love Jesus … because He first loved me. That’s
the song I was singing when I stopped to think about the words.
I love Him, because He first loved me, but that’s not the
case with Jesus. He loved me when I didn’t
love or know Him. He would continue
loving me even if I didn’t return His love. (Read 1 John 4:10-19)
It’s the same for all mankind. He already loved every person before they
were born - all through their life and will forever, even if that individual
never comes to love Him.
The amazing love of God. It's too wonderful for us to comprehend, that someone is
capable of loving like that, yet He does.
“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39 NKJV
Lord Jesus, help me to understand and receive Your love. Help me
to know the height, depth and width of the kind of love that nothing can
separate.
“Open my eyes [to spiritual truth of You word] so that I may
behold (and obey) wonderful things from Your law.” Psalm 119:18 AMP
There is a Name I love to
hear,
I love to sing its worth;
It sounds like music in my ear,
The sweetest Name on earth.
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus,
Because He first loved me!
It tells me of a Savior’s
love,
Who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood,
The sinner’s perfect plea.
