Scriptures reveal throughout its writings the value of
obtaining wisdom for every area of our lives.
One such passage in the book of Proverbs is clear on what we can gain
from seeking wisdom from God’s word and applying it to everything we do.
In Proverbs 2 King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, tells us what we can expect from applying, discerning, and understanding the hidden treasures of seeking God’s wisdom.
Godly wisdom helps us to apply what we have learned by understanding how to put it into practice. It becomes a shield that protects us from harm, pointing those who seek it to the right path.
Wisdom will show us when to use discretion that will preserve and deliver us from evil so we may walk in the goodness of God. It will keep us blameless before the Lord, helping us to stay on the path of righteousness.
As you study the word each day, ask God to reveal His wisdom and give you understand of the knowledge you have gained. Ask Him to give you understand of what you read so that you value wisdom greatly and it becomes a shield that helps you walk uprightly before Him.
“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly.” (Proverbs 2:6-7 NKJV)
