Verse of the Month
“For as the earth brings forth its bud, as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.”
(Isaiah 61:11 NKJV)
Scripture Reading: Matthew 28:6
The Empty Egg
Spring is just around the corner, and with the season changing people are geared up for outside activities. One of the events that many like to celebrate is Easter, but not everyone shares in the way it should be carried out among friends, family and neighbors.
Recently I was reading an article about a ministry that hosted Easter egg hunts in previous years. Eyebrows were raised that they had used donated funds for this community outreach. What most didn't realize was that they took an activity of the world and turned it into a godly hands-on resource lesson using "Resurrection Eggs" to demonstrate that "He (Christ) is not here, but is risen."
Whether or not we agree with egg hunts, bunnies or chocolate candy surprises stuffed in a basket full of goodies, the fact remains that they are "tools" believer's can use to share the message of the resurrection of Christ.
Instead of looking for ways to condemn others, let's rejoice together that they have a heart to share the good news that Jesus is alive and saves. Then try making your own resurrection eggs to demonstrate to little ones that the tomb of Christ is empty. See what this family did here.
