Verse of the Month
“God is not a man; He will not lie.
God is not a human being; His
decisions will not change.
If He says He will do
something, then He will do it.
If He makes a promise, then He
will do what He promised.”

Acting on God’s
Promises
For
the past month we have been learning about the promises of God by grace, through
the free gift of salvation. It’s time to
take that knowledge and put it to work for winning souls, because we were saved by grace to do good things that represent Jesus.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone
should boast.
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in
them.”
(Ephesians
2:8-10 NKJV)
The
Bible tells us that once we receive Jesus as our Savior, we have the tools we
need to walk out our calling. We are to use these gifts and not be ignorant
thinking that they are for our personal gain.
The
Apostle Paul was blunt when he explained this to the church concerning the
promises and gifts from the Lord. (Read 1 Corinthians chapter 12)
“Now concerning
spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant.”
(1 Corinthians 12:1 NKJV)
If we remain ignorant to what the
Bible says, the devil will try to trick us into thinking that the promises of God aren’t true so we don’t act on our belief.
As
a believer in Christ we know that God doesn’t lie and what good things He
starts will be completed. The enemy (satan)
will always tell us the exact opposite of what God says.
“This is
because you have taken part with me in spreading the good news from the first
day you heard about it. God is the One who began this good work in you, and I am certain that He won't stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns." (Philippians
1:5-6 CEV)
With the help of the Holy Spirit, you
are equipped to share this message of hope through various forms of evangelism.
Use the gifts (and talents) God gave you
to complete the task by acting on the promises of God. (cw)
