Verse of the month
“Thanks be unto God which always causes me to triumph in
Christ…” 2 Corinthians 2:14
Week of January 8-14, 2016
Scripture
Reading: Matthew 24:36-42
This May Be the Year
Books
have been written, movies have been made: we have heard it taught our whole
life that Jesus Christ was coming again…and soon! Yet many believers have gotten complacent in
watching and waiting. We have stopped
looking up and have allowed our thoughts to wander. (Luke 21:28)
God
hasn’t changed His mind. All prophecy
leading to His return has been fulfilled.
Now we await the appointed time.
At
the start of this New Year, it is time that we renew our thinking and
excitement that this may be the year of Christ’s return for His Church! May each one of us work diligently to help
build God’s Kingdom, and may we take every opportunity to tell others about Christ
as we prepare for His soon return! (jw)
