Scripture Reading: I Corinthians 13
“And now abides faith, hope, and charity
(love), these three;
but the greatest of these is charity (love).” (I Corinthians 13:13)
Love Never Fails
Why
do you think that love is called the greatest of the three (faith, hope, love)
from I
Corinthians 13:13? Let’s look at
some of love’s attributes.
Love:
Is not easily provoked, thinks no evil (verse 5)
Love:
Rejoices in truth (verse 6)
Love:
Bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things (verse 7)
Summed
up in three words, Love Never Fails!
Love
is a binding element. God is bound to us
by His love. Husbands and wives are
bound together by love. Love holds the
whole thing together.
If
it weren’t for God’s love, faith and hope wouldn’t be available to us. Salvation through the shed blood of Jesus
wouldn’t be available.
God
has given us the gift of love. It is a
gift that gets bigger and better (for us) the more we give it away. Show your love to others and, “Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly”
(Colossians 3:16), the Word of love!
