Verse of the Month
“We are more than conquerors through Him that
loved us.”
(Romans 8:37)

Scripture Reading: Joshua 14:6-14
“I am this day fourscore and five years old …
Now therefore, give me this mountain…” (Joshua
14:10,12)
Mediocrity is only making it
halfway up the mountain.
No
one ever achieves success by thinking and doing things in a mediocre way. Take Caleb for an example.
At
eighty-five years old, you would think that the boy would be looking for the
green pastures and the ease of farming the fertile, flat, bottom-land. Instead, he asks Joshua for the hilly,
mountainous country of Hebron for his inheritance. Not only that, but before he could settle
there he had to drive out the inhabitants first.
Caleb
was definitely not a mediocre thinker or doer, was he? He was a man blessed with strength and
success because as Joshua 14:14 says,
“…he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.”
You
and I don’t have to settle for mediocrity in our lives. We don’t have to look at the limitations of
our own abilities and think, “we’ll never make it”. We can draw on the power of God to see to it
that we are successful.
Philippians
4:13 tells us that, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Romans 8:37 gives
us the confidence that, “We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”
Mediocrity
is a thing of the past. The only things
ahead for us are success and victory through Jesus Christ our Lord!
