“And God will wipe away every tear from their
eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying.
There
shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation
21:4 NKJV)

Great Expectations from
Believers
Receiving
the gift of salvation is a wonderful thing, especially when we know that one
day all sorrow, sadness and pain will be a thing of the past.
However,
getting to live forever in Heaven with our Savior doesn’t come without
expectations.
Did
you realize that God has great expectations for each of His children? No, it’s not “You do this for Me and I’ll do that for you” kind of thing. Just like earthly parents, our Heavenly Father
wants us to be the best we can be, and equips us to achieve great things for
Him and ourselves.
As
believers in Jesus Christ, God expects us to stand out from others in the way
we love. He longs for us to grow closer
to Him daily through fellowship in prayer, reading His Word and serving.
Knowing
that one day the Lord will return, God expects us to share the gospel message
fulfilling the Great Commission by leading souls toward Him. We do that by using our gifts, talents and material
goods for Kingdom work through the power of the Holy Spirit.
“For sure, I tell you, whoever puts
his trust in Me can do the things I am doing. He will do even greater things
than these because I am going to the Father.
Whatever you ask in My name, I will do it so the shining-greatness
of the Father may be seen in the Son.
Yes, if you ask anything in My name, I will do it."
(John 14:12-14 NLV)
What
expectations have you placed on yourself when it comes to achieving great
things for Christ? Jesus said that we
would do greater works, and through the power of the Holy Spirit we can do all the things we are gifted to do.
Jesus is expecting to see something great accomplished in our
lives. Don’t you think it’s about time
we find out what that is? (cw)
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
And my God shall supply all your need
according to His
riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:13 & 19 NKJV)
