Resting in His Peace

"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior who is
Christ the Messiah, the Lord."

Resting in His Peace

Scripture Reading: Luke 2:14

We often think that peace is a frame of mind or state we ought to live in life. It’s true, we do associate peace with things going right in our lives, but that’s not biblically true peace. It’s temporary pleasure or rest from turmoil or sadness.

John the Baptist testified about a Messiah to come, and one that would save the earth. He saw the Spirit of God come on Jesus as a Dove. The dove is a symbol of peace to the world, but to the believer, it is the Holy Spirit in power, which brings peace to our lives. Without the Holy Spirit, peace wouldn't even be available.

"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace,
goodwill toward men!"  (Luke 2:14)

If you are in a position of unrest and are lacking in faith, ask the Holy Spirit for comfort and you will find His peace and the rest you need.

“It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread
of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.” Psalm 127:2
