set us free! This means we are really free. Now hold on to your freedom and don’t ever
become slaves of the Law again.”

Christian Liberty
Every July 4th
America celebrates her liberty with parades, festivities and family gatherings.
We dare not forget the sacrifices that have taken place for us to retain and
maintain that precious gift, and we are grateful for those who made freedom
possible for the citizens of this great nation.
However,
there is another kind of liberty that has been made available to all who would
receive it. The freedom that only Christ
Jesus can give.
Since the beginning of
mankind, humans became subject to the consequences of sinning against God. Our freedom to live in this world as God
intended had changed, causing Laws to be introduced so that man would learn to
obey God by their own free will.
What changed? God sent a Redeemer. The grace of God through the sacrifice of
Jesus on the cross made it possible for mankind to regain that freedom that was
once ours before sin. We are no longer
subject to a long list of rules that are impossible to keep, but are given a
new law if we choose to accept it through the gift of salvation.
“I give you a
new law. That law is, "Love each other." As I have loved you, so you
also love each other.” (John 13:34 (New
Testament - WE)
Many willingly chose to give
their lives that we may live in a country where freedom is FREE, but it did
come with a cost. It’s honorable to
remember individuals, however it was wanting Christian liberty to freely worship,
follow and serve Christ Jesus that these souls fought for from the beginning of
this nation. In loving others, let us
hold on to this freedom. (cw)

“Stand fast therefore in the
liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke
of bondage.” (Galatians 5:1 NKJV)
