He Is Not Here

He Is Not Here

Jesus had been crucified and buried.  Everything the Lord said would happen, happened and it appeared that the Disciples were left alone to figure what to do next.  Now they wondered would Jesus return as He said and be raised from the dead?

As they were gathered together a message was sent to them by an angel at the tomb, “He is not here: for He is risen, as He said, come, see the place where the Lord lay.” (Matthew 28:6) 

When the Disciples received the news that Jesus wasn’t in the tomb, Peter and John ran to the grave to see for themselves if it was true.  Yes indeed, Christ had risen! The angel verified that the promise Jesus made concerning being raised again the third day had been fulfilled.  The debt of all mankind for sin had been paid.

Jesus Christ had conquered death and the grave. It wouldn’t be long before the rest of Apostles saw Him alive, and the message of salvation was taught to the nations.

Thousands of people flock to Jerusalem each year to visit the grave site of Jesus.  They will see for themselves what the Disciples witnessed.  Jesus is risen, He isn’t there!

This Easter share the salvation gospel – good news that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ was for all who will believe and make Him Lord of their life.  Just like the Disciples before us, go tell that Jesus is alive and has kept His promise to bring salvation to the lost.  (cw/jw)
