When They Saw the Star

When They Saw the Star

It had been two whole years of searching.  Tired from their travels, the Wise Men may have wondered if they would ever lay eyes on the baby Jesus. 

Suddenly, the search came to an end.  I can imagine how elated the Magi were when the star they had followed for so long finally stopped over the house where Jesus was. 

“When the Wise Men heard the king, they departed; and behold,

the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came

 and stood over where the young Child was.  When they saw the star,

they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.

And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him:

gold, frankincense and myrrh.” (Matthew 2:9-11 NKJV)

Although a celestial star was used as a guide to Immanuel, those who believe in Christ as the True Messiah no longer look for a wandering star because Jesus did come to dwell among us.

Once again, the eyes of believers are fixed on the Eastern skies, only this time it’s for the return of Jesus the Son of God and KING of Kings.  There will be exceedingly great joy when we see an even brighter star coming in the clouds. (cw)
