Reflections of Love

A group of church members from the Denhigh United Presbyterian Church in Virginia held two VBS programs in the west port area of Haiti (in 2019).

Besides regular bible lessons, food and games they provide a craft time.  The photographer takes photos and prints out a copy for each child.  During craft time they make a frame to take home.

When it came time for the children to claim their photos, no one came forward.  What the leaders discovered is that they had never seen their reflections in a mirror because such luxury was too costly.

The children may not have seen themselves physically, but Jesus always has. He loves them and desires that they fellowship with Him spiritually.

“And they were bringing children to Him so that He might touch them;

but the disciples rebuked them.  But when Jesus saw this,

He was indignant and said to them, Permit the children to come to Me;

do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  

Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like 

a child will not enter it at all.” (Mark 10:13-16)

As we minister to the little ones may our message of Christ always be reflections of His love for them.

Yes, Jesus loves the little children … ALL the children of the world! (cw)
