“And above all things have fervent love for one another,

💖The Heart of Love 💖

Around the beginning of the year we see decorations for Valentine’s Day popping up everywhere.  It sets a tone that love is on the horizon for relationships.  However, having a few decorations of hearts displayed around our homes doesn’t always reflect the human heart or love for that matter.

When a person repents of their sins the matter is done (settled) in God’s eyes.  The blood of Jesus covered the multitude of sins that person committed.  He has totally forgiven them never to bring them up in the future.

If our hearts were truly to reflect that Christ lives in us, we would also forgive others as Jesus has forgiven us.  To cover up the sin (not bringing it up again) doesn’t mean you agreed with the behavior, but that you are willing to show love through grace and forgive as Christ did.

“He who covers a transgression seeks love,

but he who repeats a matter separates friends.” (Proverbs 17:9)

The next time someone hurts you in some way, forgive them out of love whether you feel like it or not.  Let your heart reflect the love of Christ as He loves, and you will discover that the heart of love is forgiveness. (cw)
