Trained and
Skilled for Battle
Regardless of whether it is during peace or war time, when a
soldier is commissioned for duty they do not know when or if they will return home. Courageously they leave behind all they know
and love for the sake of basically strangers.
Those that put their faith in God will have strength and courage
in the midst of fear. He will guide, train
and give them the skills needed for the task.
“Praise the
LORD, my protector! He trains me for
battle
and prepares
me for war.” (Psalm 144:1 GNT)
Let us remind them that He will be with them no matter where they
are and will provide whatever they need for the physical, mental and spiritual battle.
“Be strong
and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified
because of
them, for the LORD your God goes with you;
He will never
leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV)
With thanks we acknowledge the brave sacrifice of those in the
military who fight for our freedom and rights. It is not unnoticed, but highly
valued.
May God grant peace, safety and strength to them, as well as the
families of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives. (cw)
