Jesus Lived
Palm Sunday: The Humbled and Exalted Christ

This week we celebrate Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week for believers in Christ Jesus.  It’s a sacred time when we observe the triumphant arrival of the Lord in Jerusalem just days before He was crucified for the sins of mankind.

“You know that our Lord Jesus Christ was kind enough to give
up all his riches and become poor, so that you could become rich.”
(2 Corinthians 8:9 CEV)

Why would Jesus do such a thing; leave His Heavenly home to be born in a stable only to live a humble life to be insulted, rejected and persecuted?  He did it for love, to bring us back to the Heavenly Father our Creator, whom we sinned against.

As we prepare for Resurrection Day, let us be thankful of how Jesus humbled Himself of all Heavenly privileges, and received the chastisement for sin that was really ours. (cw)

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who,
being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery (or something to
be held onto to be equal) to be equal with God, but made (emptied
Himself of His privileges) Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. Philippians 2:5-7
